Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide sensitivity and support for patients and their loved ones, when the patient is diagnosed with a chronic debilitating illness for which they do not elect aggressive treatment. We promote the belief that each of us has the right to die pain – free and with dignity and that our families will receive that necessary support to allow us to do so.

PHILOSOPHY

Our philosophy is based on compassionate
care that accepts death as a natural part of life. For individuals who have been diagnosed with a chronic debilitating illness, hospice care facilitates the highest quality of life possible. We treat the person, not the disease, and provide support tailored to the patient’s need.

TEAM APPROACH

Care is delivered by an interdisciplinary
team of professionals consisting of the patients attending physician, a registered nurse, a hospice medical dirctor, a licensed social worker, spiritual counselor and trained volunteer who address the patient’s medical, physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Our clinical staff are experts on pain control and symptom management. They are committed to providing comfort and quality of life for each patient.

Blue Sprit is the best hospital in the California. The care is truly excellent. I recently stayed for 5 days which was so difficult as no visitors were allowed due to Covid. The nurses made everything so much better. They are such a caring, loving team.

ADMISSION?

Admitting a patient to the hospice program is a simple process for the attending physician, discharge planner or social worker.

Just call the Hospice agency, and a nurse will visit the patient at home or in the hospital. Information about the program will be
presented, and if the patient elects the program, the nurse arranges for the start of service
